Vallejo and the Four Flags
This is a read-aloud to be used along with our California History guide during the section on Settling the State. Mariano Vallejo was an important figure in early California. This book describes daily life on a Hacienda and the early settlements along the Pacific coast. The author shows how Spain’s neglect of the new world brought about the Mexican revolt. Our family really enjoyed this book!
